“Time Flies When You’re Having Fun” some people say. I beg to differ. I would offer an alternative: “Time Flies Period”. Whether you’re having fun or not is beside the point. Case in point: 2008. Very few people if any had any fun in 2008, yet, it flew. It was New Years yesterday, and another New Years is coming. Where did the time go? It flew…
This year in particular, when I consider my personal life, in juxtaposition to the global viewpoint, and chills go down my spine. We had a family trip to Thailand. Later in 2008 Bangkok and many other cities across Thailand. The airports in and around Bangkok were closed for weeks, a travel warning was issued. Later in 2008, we went to India for a few weeks. The trip was exceptional. Everyone knows of the deadly terrorist attack in Mumbai in November. My family and I attended the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008. The Games ended in August, and China was waiting to reap the benefits. Needless to say, China, like the rest of the world is in dire straits.
My family and I started the year in China, not knowing when we’re coming back. We ended up in Israel. I started the year working for Sun Microsystems and ended with IBM. My children moved to a new school, we moved back to our old house, furnished it, and settled down. It was quite a year. For us, and for everyone else. 2008 was a year to remember.
2008 is about to end and 2009 is around the corner. Given that the economy is in trouble, I decided to resort to very basic wishes this year. May you have your health, keep your job, enjoy your family, appreciate what you have, and practice responsibility.

I enjoyed reading it. Wishing you a wonderful 2009.
